Dive into the charm and history of the iconic Christkindlmarket Chicago with our Culture & Cheer Tour! Every Thursday to Sunday from 10:15 AM to 11:00 AM, join a German-speaking Christkindlmarket team member for a behind-the-scenes journey through Daley Plaza before the market opens to the public.
Stroll around as vendors set up for the day, even as the booths’ shutters may still be up, you’ll be the first to explore the market that day, gaining insights into vendors’ unique offerings, German holiday traditions, and the market’s rich 29-year history. Each tour includes a “Deutschminute,” a fun mini-German language lesson for those eager to learn authentic holiday phrases.
Your tour ticket also includes a little goodie bag filled with some vendor treats, a 2025 souvenir Heart Mug, and a hot chocolate voucher redeemable at vendor booths once the market opens. The tour concludes in one of our cozy heated structures, giving you a prime spot near the bar to enjoy imported German beverages when the market opens at 11:00 AM.
