Celebrate the German tradition of St. Martin’s Day at the Christkindlmarket Aurora with our Children’s Lantern Parade!
Similar to the children in Germany, kids in Aurora can enjoy a Lantern Parade at the at the enchanting Christkindlmarket Aurora. Before the parade begins, they’ll have the chance to meet the Christkind, and on December 5, St. Nikolaus will join for a special appearance and photo opportunities.
With lanterns in hand and festive songs filling the air, the Christkind will lead the children on a stroll through the magical holiday village within the Christkindlmarket Aurora. Following the parade, each child will receive a delightful goodie bag as a token of the experience.

Join us at the Christkindlmarket Aurora, held at RiverEdge Park for a hands-on glassblowing experience with the talented artisans from Ikonic Glass. It’s open to everyone ages 10+, including adults who want to add a personal touch to their holiday décor. Kids ages between 10 to 17 must have guardian permission and supervision to participate.
You’ll get to choose from fun shapes like the traditional Pickle Ornament, Heart, Leaf, Icicle, Medallion. After selecting your favorite shape and colors, you’ll be guided through the creation process using a safe, benchtop torch.
Every participant will receive a safety demonstration and protective glasses before beginning. Students will handle glass rods from a safe distance, melting them in a controlled flame with close supervision from experienced teachers. For additional safety information, please see the event details.
In just 20 minutes, each guest will craft a beautiful ornament that will be a cherished memory of the season. Don’t miss the chance to craft your own piece of holiday magic!
