Pure Sound Youth Choir is a mainstay of the Music and Fine Arts program at St. Luke’s United Methodist Church in Houston, TX, and serves as the worship choir regularly at the 8:30 am Sunday service. Comprised of hard-working and dedicated 6th through 12th graders, these singers follow in the footsteps of young people who have sung since the choir was founded in 1996. The choir tours every other year, just after Christmas, and destinations have been foreign and domestic, from Alaska to Cuba, Scotland to San Francisco. On alternate years, the choir traditionally presents Vivaldi’s Gloria on Christmas Eve, along with scores of alumni singers who return for the event. In addition, they present a major musical every spring, and those shows have included everything from “Oklahoma” and “Guys and Dolls,” to the 2020 offering, “The Little Mermaid.” Under the direction of founder, Sid Davis, these young singers change the world each and every week with their unparalleled service.
