Nov. 25

!!!!! NEW !!!!! 11 am - 8 pm: Get your first sneak peek of the market and start the holiday season off right! 4 pm - 4:30 pm: Chicago's 96th Annual Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony. Join the festivities with musical performances and holiday music.

	Nov. 26	Thanksgiving Day Parade   11 am - 4 pm: 2nd Sneak Peek of the market
	Nov. 27	Regular market hours begin   ca. 4 pm: Official Grand Opening - festivites feature the official Christkind from Nürnberg, officials and a variety entertainment
	Nov. 27	Enjoy a performance of the Von Heidecke's Chicago Festival Ballet Production of "The Nutcracker" and meet, greet and take pictures with the performers afterwards. Don't miss this must-see event featuring world class principal dancers and some of Chicagoland's most talented dance students.
	Dec. 1	Traveling Holiday Elves Winter WonderLoop’s traveling elves celebrates Merry Mistletoe at the Christkindlmarket today. The elves will take digital pictures of shoppers puckering up to say "Merry Kissmas". The Elves will also be at the Christkindlmarket on December 10th

Thursday, November 26

8 am - 11 am : Thanksgiving Day Parade from (State Street - from Congress to Randolph) Come down to State Street and see our Christkindlmarket float in the parade. Get your first glimpse of the "Christkindl", the Christmas Fairy, who will be accompanied by the American Aid Society of German Descendants Kindergruppe. Right after the parade, head over to Daley Plaza to meet the Christkindl and see what this year's market has to offer you. 11 am - 4 pm: Sneak Peek at the Christkindlmarket Chicago 2009

Friday, December 4

12 pm: The University of Chicago Laboratory Schools Jingle Bells   Children's Lantern Parade: A Christkindlmarket tradition that invites all children to participate to this fun event. Traditionally, German children take to the streets on November 11th to celebrate the good deeds of St. Martin. One famous story tells of him as knight who generously cut his coat in half to share with a beggar on a severely cold night. Please join us as we parade the Market with traditional German lanterns. 4 - 4.45 pm: Pick up pre-ordered lanterns at Grand Timber House 5 pm: Parade begins at the Grand Timber House Pre-registration is recommended to ensure your child gets a lantern. Lanterns can be purchased through the German American Chamber of Commerce of the Midwest (GACCoM). For families to register for this event, order lanterns (comes with light and carrying rod at $10 for GACCoM Members and $12 for Non-Members) and for more details click here or register right away, call 312.644.2662 or write to info@christkindlmarket.com.
